After formalizing the championship in the league of England, the main purpose was to perform successfully in Europe as well. But it was not an easy issue, because UEFA Cup was attended by national champions and teams that completed the season on top tiers in country leagues. And the opposing teams of "Baku United" in the first stage were Polish champion "Visla" Krakov, Albanian champion "Ali demi" and "Yekunstvo" team, the first in Montenegro futsal league. All games of the stage were held in Bochnia, Poland. The first rivals were futsal players of "Yedinstvo" club of Montenegro. The chances of our team increased with the announcement of the opposing team as unfancied team. our futsal players had territorial advantage during the whole match. "Baku United" scored 5 unanswered goals to Montenegro club, and legalised its first victory in UEFA Cup. 5-0. In the 2^nd match, our futsal players had to face relatively serious test. 3 points were the main goal in the fight against the Albanian champion "Ali Demi". The victory of "Baku United" over a rival such as "Yedinstvo" in the first meeting increased the tension. But contrary to expectations, in the course of the meeting, our team demonstrated clearly better game than the opponent, and proved it was stronger. Our futsal players defeated "Ali Demi" team with the score 4-1, and rose to group leadership. Our team, which could leave the group, met with the host team "Wisla" Krakov in the 3^rd match. Even if it was a formal match, "Baku United" did not give any chance to the opponent here as well. Polish representatives could not resist to our futsal players, 7-0. Thus, we completed the first group stage of UEFA Cub, where we participated for the first time as a leader. "Baku United" scored 18 goals to the net of the opponents and demonstrated maximum results in 3 matches. And our goal keeper failed only one time during 3 matches. Thus, our team gained a ticket to the main group stage.
