Baku United ready for Super League

Baku United Futsal Club, reigning champions of the The F.A. English Futsal Championship, are finishing their final preparations before the start of the FA Futsal Super League where they will face Sheffield FC and University of Bath. The teams will play each other home and away in a mini league of three with 1st place qualifying for the Grand Finals at St. George’s Park in June where the winner of the English Championship will be decided.

Baku, England’s first professional futsal club, goes into the Super League having been undefeated in the regular season in their region where they scored an incredible 115 goals whilst conceding just 15. However, they will now face a much more difficult task as they compete against the best futsal teams the country has to offer. To meet the challenge of retaining their title, they have assembled a stellar squad that is full of experience including former Spain and current England internationals. This will be crucial as the season reaches its conclusion and the stakes rise.

Baku's General Director, Oleksandr Saliy said "Part of the club's plans and ambitions is to win the English Championship again this year and qualify for next season's UEFA Futsal Cup. We want to maintain our position as England's premier futsal club and prove ourselves at the European level. We are working hard to achieve this."

Baku’s home venue is the 2012 London Olympic training venue SportHouse, located in Barking, London. Their Super League home fixtures will be played on 6th April and 27th April, both games kick off at 2pm, and entry will be free for all spectators. This provides the public with a fantastic opportunity to watch this rapidly growing and entertaining sport at the elite level.
